Pregnancy Care

Throughout the course of your pregnancy, you will receive holistic, personalized, experienced midwifery care from the only independent midwife in the Capital Region attending births in a hospital setting. I am fully credentialed with admitting privileges at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Furthermore, with the support and collaboration of physicians St Peter’s Hospital, all of your obstetric needs can be met.

Perimenopause & Menopause

We see the perimenopausal/menopausal phase as normal, though sometimes complex, transitions, and recognize that many women are made to feel invisible when they enter this phase. We offer comprehensive care to help you navigate this chapter of your life and enhance your physical and mental well-being.

Preconception Counseling

When planning for a pregnancy, there are many areas where you can optimize your health to increase the likelihood of conception. Preconception counseling is often helpful for people who are planning pregnancy in the near future. Services may include lab-work, genetic screening, education, support on tracking your fertility, nutritional counseling, stress reduction strategies, and herbal supplements.

Teen Health

Teenagers have complex healthcare needs and we love providing them with non-judgmental, holistic care. We emphasize education and counseling, establishing trust and building the foundation for an empowered, healthy life.

Nitrous Oxide

Anxiety or discomfort should not prevent you from getting the care you need. Empowered Midwifery now offers nitrous oxide as a fast-acting option to help you feel calmer and more comfortable during certain in-office procedures.

Family Planning

Midwives can help plan and prevent pregnancies through a variety of means, from fertility counseling and education to birth control pills to long acting reversible contraception (LARCs). Lisa brings over a decade of experience in placing IUDs and Nexplanons for individuals seeking those methods.
