Deeply rooted in the Capital Region, Valerie has had the honor of supporting countless birthing families as a labor and delivery nurse since 2005. It was during this time that she first felt drawn to the midwifery model of care—a passion that quickly ignited and evolved. Since 2018, she has been practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife locally, first at Albany OB-GYN and more recently at Capital Region Midwifery. She is now thrilled to join Empowered Midwifery Care, PLLC, and feels deeply aligned with the vision Lisa has so beautifully brought to life. Valerie looks forward to contributing to its continued growth and impact.

As a midwife, Valerie is dedicated to creating spaces where individuals feel supported, respected, and truly heard. She believes that this kind of environment not only enhances patient satisfaction but also leads to improved health outcomes and meaningful, lasting relationships. Her approach centers around providing safe, high-quality, and non-judgmental care across the lifespan. She is especially passionate about empowering clients to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare and birthing experiences.

Outside of her professional life, Valerie can often be found traveling from field to field, cheering on her children in their athletic pursuits—proudly embracing her role as a travel baseball and softball mom. In quieter moments, she enjoys spending cozy evenings at home with her husband, two children, three dogs, and Tito the cat.
