Her passions for postpartum health was sparked after she experienced debilitating postpartum depression following her son’s birth in 2020. Since finding her own healing\, Ariana desires to help others navigate and heal in the midst of what can feel like such a lonely and hopeless journey. She has recently become a peer mentor as part of PSI’s (Postpartum Support International) Peer Mentor program\, where she offers help and support to moms struggling with PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders). \nAriana has facilitated the “Postpartum Support for Parents” at EMC since June 2023. In this group\, parents meet monthly to express struggles\, gain insight\, build community\, and receive encouragement as they go through the parenthood journey. Both birth parents and their partners can attend. Children are always welcome! \nSome of the discussion topics will include but are not limited to:\n– What to expect during the postpartum period\n– Baby blues vs. PMADs\n– Sleep deprivation\n– Baby bonding\n– From partners to parents \n** A PMAD diagnosis is not required to join**

Katy has always had a particular passion for helping women during pregnancy and postpartum and in more recent years has become a Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist as well as a Certified Personal Trainer. Katy is currently treating patients at Fern Physical Therapy\, in Delmar. \nIn this class\, you will learn what your pelvic floor is\, how it works with your core and other muscles\, and why its optimal function is essential during pregnancy\, delivery\, and during the postpartum period. You will learn techniques to connect with your pelvic floor and core during pregnancy to help prepare your muscles for labor and delivery.
